One of the first things I did was join a fitness centre.  Once I’d decided to start a program in the centre, I started weighing myself at the same time.  I made a point of using the same weighing machine every day.
I began to notice easy, fast weight loss on a daily basis, after only a week or two.

I was surprised to see an increase in my weight. Not believing my eyes, I jumped on and off the scales several times.  I had done nothing wrong! I had stuck to three meals, and some fruit. Thunder struck with the increase shown by the machine. I tried to calm down, comforted myself by thinking that at least I am getting healthy with the program.
Although disappointed, I did the next day what I was supposed to do.
On the scale again next day I realized there had been no need to worry, the weight loss became very visible again.  Relief!

I learned later with a little research, that whenever we try to change our body, there is a tendency to maintain a status quo.
This is due to a process of adaptation that is taking place. Once the body adapts to the intended change, the change gets accelerated.
